Denise Wong, Ph.D.

Robotics Engineer

Prior to joining Exyn, Denise was a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania in the General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception (GRASP) Laboratory under Professor Vijay Kumar, where she earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S.E. in Robotics. Her thesis was on actuation, sensing and control for microbiorobots. She specialized in developing algorithms for the manipulation of multiple magnetic microrobots using visual servoing and interfacing microrobotic tools with basic science. During her graduate studies, she also interned at SRI International where she designed and implemented a vision system for the MicroFactory platform for smart manufacturing. Before starting at Penn, Denise worked as a manufacturing engineer at a consumer electronics company. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. and M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.
